🌲 Tree Trunk

Using dark red yarn:

  1. MR, 6 sc

  2. inc x6 (12)

    6–25. sc around (30)

  6. (3 sc, dec) x6 (24)

  7. (2 sc, dec) x6 (18)

  8. sc around (18)
    Stuff firmly and continue working into branches.


🌿 Branches (Make 8–12, various sizes)

Branches are worked directly from top of trunk or sewn on.

Small Branch:

  1. Attach yarn to top of trunk.

  2. Ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across (9)

  3. Turn, sc across (9), FO leaving tail to stitch along the curve for shaping.

Medium Branch:
Same as above but ch 12–14 and add one increase halfway to curve it.
Stuff lightly if needed. Sew in place.

Repeat to shape multiple branches, some curving downward, others stretching out.

Join Halves:

5. (sc, dec) x6 (12)
6. (2 sc, dec) x3 (9)
7. dec x4, sl st, FO (5)

Stuff lightly before final decrease.
Leave long tail for hanging or stitching.


🪢 Hanging Strings

  • Chain 25–30 (or desired length)

  • Attach one end to top of heart, tie or sew the other end to a branch.

Repeat for each heart.

  • Sew branches at slight angles for a natural look.

  • Position hearts to hang evenly around tree.

  • Mount bottom of tree to wooden base using hot glue or sewing onto felt.
