🎒 Kirby Body (Bag Base) – Color A

Make 2 identical flat circles:

  2. inc x6 (12)
  3. (1 sc, inc) x6 (18)
  4. (2 sc, inc) x6 (24)
  5. (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)
  6. (4 sc, inc) x6 (36)
  7. (5 sc, inc) x6 (42)

  10. (8 sc, inc) x6 (60)
  11. (9 sc, inc) x6 (66)
  12. (10 sc, inc) x6 (72)

Do not fasten off second piece. Hold both pieces together and sc through both to join around ¾ of the circle. Leave a gap for opening.

🔒 Closure (Drawstring or Magnetic Snap)

Option A: Drawstring (as seen)

  • On the open gap, create a row of ch 2, skip 1, sc in next to form eyelets.
  • ch a cord long enough to tie or pull closed, weave through the eyelets.
  • Tighten and tie in a bow or attach small beads/pompoms on the ends.

Option B: Magnetic Snap

  • Insert the magnetic button flap under the front inside panel before joining the circles.
  • Stitch or glue lining to hide fastener.

🧤 Arms (Make 2) – Color A

  1. MR, 6 sc (6)
  2. inc x6 (12)
    3–8. sc around (12)
  3. dec x6 (6)
FO, stuff lightly and sew to sides of Kirby’s face.

💡 Tip: Slightly curve the arm during sewing for a “raised” playful pose.

👟 Feet (Make 2) – Color B & C

Start with Color C (sole):

  1. MR, 6 sc (6)
  2. inc x6 (12)
  3. sc around (12)
    Switch to Color B

4–7. sc around (12)
8. (2 sc, dec) x3 (9)
FO, stuff firmly and sew to bottom edges of the bag.

💡 Slight upward tilt gives the cute bouncing Kirby look!

👀 Face Details – Embroidered or Felt

Eyes (in yarn or felt):

  • Two ovals in black with white sparkle highlight and blue gradient
  • Use either embroidery or cut layered felt pieces and glue/sew

Cheeks:

  • Small ovals in Color B (dark pink), embroidered or crocheted (MR, 6 sc)

Mouth:

  • Embroider smile with black thread

🧶 Strap – Color E (Lilac)

  1. ch 80–100 (depending on desired strap length)
  2. sc in 2nd ch from hook and across
  3. ch 1, turn, sc across (repeat 3–4 rows for strap thickness)
FO and sew both ends to the upper edges of Kirby’s body.

💡 Use thick interfacing or line with canvas for stronger support if carrying heavier items.

✂️ Finishing Touches

  • Weave in all yarn ends
  • Adjust face elements and stitch securely
  • Optionally line inside with fabric for durability
  • Reinforce strap attachment if you plan to carry heavier items

💡 Customization Tips

  • Add zipper or button if preferred over drawstring
  • Make a mini coin purse version with just one side of the circle
  • Add a star keychain or warp star charm!
